Change in Direction

Originally, this site was planned to be a resource for people interested in living with a little bit less than they have now… but like good all plans, this one changed too.

Rather than living a smaller lifestyle, we started to expand – chiefly with this little guy http://liam.dumbculture.com/. AsĀ our little atomic family got a little atomic-er, we started to collect again. Baby things mostly. ALL of them necessary and ALL of them wonderful.

So there we were, zipping along living our lives and collecting things (and people) and not updating this site – it just didn’t seem like a priority.

Then came the house.

We loved it the moment we saw it. And loved it even more when we went inside. And more still when we learned of it’s history and met the owners.

So here we are on the cusp of another change and looking to live a little smaller in the process.

Wish us luck.

Welcome to Live Small!

Too much crap!

That’s what it’s about. Every day we buy, make and lust after more and more things: Big things, little things, things with value and things that just fill a empty space.

Live Small is a little blog dedicated to culling some of the junk from our life – it’s a work in progress. As we go through the process we’ll share what we learn. And hopefully you’ll share with us along the way.

Lets start with and awesome contest being run by apartment therapy and design within reachthe smallest coolest apartment contest 2007. Check out some of the photos for some fantastic inspirations to reduce your life.
